Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios have finally released the first teaser trailer for Iron Man 3. The film brings back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, whose life is unraveling when his enemies destroy his personal life. The first word that I uttered after first viewing of the trailer was “WOW!”. This is the type of Iron Man film I’ve been waiting for. I have really enjoyed the first two entries in the blockbuster franchise, but I was hoping that they would tread into darker waters and it definitely seems that this is where the third film will be headed. Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) takes the director’s chair from Jon Favreau (Cowboys & Aliens) and it appears that Tony Stark will be broken down in this film so he can rise and triumph. This, I hope, will be a promising start to Marvel’s Phase Two films. The features returning stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle while the rest of the cast includes includes newcomers Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale and Ben Kingsley. Iron Man 3 will open in theaters on May 3, 2013. Check out the explosive trailer below:
