International trailer for Rian Johnson’s “Looper”

By

Film District has released a new international trailer for Rian Johnson‘s Looper, which takes place in an alternate universe where time travel is used for nefarious purposes. This new trailer delves deeper into the reason why Bruce Willis‘ character, an older version of Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s character, is sent back to be executed by his younger self and additionally provides us with a deeper look into this world. Jeff Daniels‘ character also gets more screen time and leaves you wondering which side he’s on and what his intentions might be. My anticipation for the film increases as more footage is released, and has earned a place on my must watch list for the year. Check out the new international trailer below:

Official Synopsis

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

Looper hits theaters September 28th, 2012.
