Earlier this year at San Diego Comic Con, we saw writer-director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) unveil test footage of his Ant-Man project. The footage displayed a modern, less cartoonish version of the ant suit. The footage also showed off Wright’s vision of Ant-Man’s power including super-strength and the ability to change size. The footage was Marvel‘s big surprise at SDCC 2012 and it really stirred things up in the film world. Would Ant-Man be a part of Marvel’s Phase Two? Phase Three? Could Ant-Man be a future Avenger? With production on Wright’s The World’s End coming to a close, the director can begin to give Ant-Man his full attention. Marvel has scheduled Ant-Man for a November 6, 2015 release date, six months after The Avengers 2 premieres marking the end of Phase Two. Perhaps Ant-Man will tie in somewhere with the other films as a part of Phase Three or perhaps it will be a stand-alone film like The Amazing Spiderman. In any case, we can be sure to see the Ant-man Henry Pym on the big screen in late 2015.
