Peter Jackson announced via his Facebook page that principal photography has ended for The Hobbit films. Both films were shot at the same time with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey releasing on December 14, 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again being released a year later on December 13, 2013. This is fantastic news as we know The Hobbit is going to be at Comic-Con so expect more news to come possibly with some footage as well. Jackson posted this on his Facebook page:
“We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!
Cheers, Peter J”
