Rumors continue to swirl around the cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Lionsgate‘s sequel to their mega-hit The Hunger Games. There is now chatter indicating that the studio has identified a short list of actors for the role of the Hunger Games victor from District 4, Finnick Odair. The list for the role is reported to include Armie Hammer (Mirror Mirror), Taylor Kitsch (Battleship) and Garrett Hedlund (On The Road). Hammer seems an unlikely choice as he is currently co-starring in the upcoming Lone Ranger adaptation from Disney and the production schedules would seem to clash. Kitsch could be an interesting possibility, but out of these choices my money would be on Hedlund as he has shown the most range in his previous films. Of course, there is a chance they could go with someone else or possibly a complete unknown. Lionsgate went through a similar process when choosing a director for the film; ultimately selecting Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants). We will soon see who they choose, as casting is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.
